Compensation & Benefits

Compensation

The Be In Christ Church of Canada has developed a compensation philosophy that reflects a commitment to the staff and values of BIC Canada and to those who work for the organization. The compensation philosophy is describe below.

  • To reward performance, service and contribution
  • To ensure internal equity and fairness
  • To be good stewards of both the people and finances trusted to us
  • To set fair and liveable wages
  • To comply with all employment legislation

Salary Administration

Salaries are reviewed on an annual basis along with performance expectations. An annual increase is not to be assumed due to the nature of functioning in a not-for-profit organization. Cost of living increases are reviewed each year in connection with such increases to the compensation agreement to senior pastors.

You will be advised, in writing, of any increases to your salary.

Regular Pay Procedures

BIC Canada pays on a semi-monthly basis, on the 15th and the last business day of the month. Net earnings are directly deposited to a bank account of your choice. Standard statutory deductions and withholdings will be taken from each pay in accordance with legislated requirements. Deductions required or requested are as follows:

  • Income Tax
  • Canada Pension Plan
  • Employment Insurance
  • Garnishments
  • Group benefit deductions

Any questions concerning payroll deductions should be directed to your supervisor.

It is your responsibility to provide written notification to payroll immediately when there is any change in name, address, phone number, information regarding emergency contact, beneficiary, marital status, banking information and other status information. It is important that your information be current at all times. Untimely notification of changes may result in incorrect tax reporting, benefit deductions or benefit coverage.
